Governor Kemp announces Nine Appointments

Today Georgia Governor Brian P. Kemp held swearing-in ceremonies for nine appointments to various boards and commissions.  Four individuals were appointed to the Board of Commissioners of the Superior Court Clerks’ Retirement System of Georgia, which administers the Superior Court Clerks’ Retirement Fund.  This fund was created by the Georgia General Assembly in 1952 to provide retirement benefits to Georgia Superior Court Clerks who meet specific eligibility requirements. Those four appoints were Linda Hays, who currently serves as the Superior Court Clerk for Newton County; Dan Jordan, who is the retired Clerk of Superior Court for Jasper County, where he served from 1989 to 2017; Timothy Harper, who has served as the Clerk of the Superior Court for Banks County since 1993; and Beverly Logan, who currently serves as the Clerk of the Superior and State Court for Athens-Clarke County.  Governor Kemp made one appointment to the Georgia State Board of Podiatry Examiners, which protects the public health and safety by regulating and overseeing licensed podiatrists in Georgia. That appoint was Dr. Sarvepalli Jokhai, who is the founder and visionary of Foot and Ankle Center of Middle Georgia, LLC. The final three appointments were made to the Georgia Professional Standards Commission, which establishes guidelines and oversees the preparation, certification, professional conduct, and recruitment support of certified personnel employed in Georgia schools. Those appointments were Dr. Karla Hull, Derek Easterling, and Dr. Jennifer Sheffild-Wade.
