Georgia DOT to begin working on Elachee Bridge Replacement

The Elachee Bridge over Interstate-985 in Hall County is being replaced. The work will be performed by E.R. Snell Contractor, Inc and will consist of a bridge replacement, pedestrian upgrades, and adding beautification features to the new bridge including rock facing and ornamental fencing.  Work on the overpass bridge begins on December 7, 2022.  Work on the bridge will include single lane closures, as well as, traffic pacing during specified hours.  Single lane closures on I-985 Northbound may occur Sunday-Thursday 8pm to 6:30am;  9pm Friday through 9am Sunday morning.  Single lane closures on I-985 Southbound may occur Sunday-Thursday 7pm to 5:30am; 9pm Friday through 9am Sunday morning.  Pacing is allowed between 10am to 2pm and 10pm to 5am Monday through Sunday for northbound and southbound traffic.  Single lane closures on Elachee Drive and all side streets may occur Sunday-Thursday 9am to 2:30pm; 4pm to 7:30am Monday through Friday with the exception of special events.  The project is expected to be completed by October 31, 2023.
