General Manager gives Monthly Report to RCWSA

At its recent meeting, Rabun County Water and Sewer Authority (RCWSA) General Manager Brendan Thompson delivered his monthly report on water usage in the county for November of 2020.  “The November 2020 ending balance on RCWSA Operating Bank Account is $198,644.78.  In the South Water System, November 2020 Water bill was delivered to the City of Clayton. Unit Rate is $3.19/1000 gallons beginning in July 2020. The Water Bill Amount is $130,380.71. Please note that the billing methodology agreed to by contract between RCWSA and the City of Clayton was implemented on August 1, 2019.  Lake Rabun WTP pumped to distribution system volume for October 2020 was 41,649,000 gallons. Pumped to distribution system volume for November 2020 was 38,782,000 gallons; a decrease of 2,867,000 gallons or -6.9% from October 2020 to November 2020.  Pumped to distribution system volume for November 2019 was 34,959,000 gallons; an increase of 3,823,000 gallons or 10.9% from November 2019 to November 2020.  The City of Clayton’s November 2019 volume was 32,808,000 gallons. The City of Clayton’s November 2020 volume was 40,871,696 gallons. A difference of 8,063,696 gallons or a 24.6% increase.  Customers’ November 2020 meter readings were done on November 23, 2020. Bills were sent out on November 30, 2020.  No new taps for the month of November 2020.  Unaccounted for water volume for the month of November 2020 was 10.72%.  In the North Water System, Little Tennessee WTP pumped to the distribution system for October 2020 was 14,480,000 gallons. Pumped to distribution system volume for November 2020 was 14,004,000 gallons; a decrease of 476,000 gallons or -3.3% from October 2020 to November 2020.  Customers’ November 2020 meter readings were done on November 23, 2020. Bills were sent out on November 30, 2020.  One new tap for the month of November 2020.  Unaccounted for water volume for the month of November 2020 was 5.81%.”  At the wastewater plant, regular preventive maintenance on motors and machinery continues and fire hydrant maintenance and valve exercising is ongoing.
