Fugitive captured after 5 month search

A fugitive who has been known to frequent Rabun County and surrounding areas was recently arrested in Macon County, North Carolina.

Upon the arrest of Christopher Allen Wikstrom who committed acts of home invasion and aggravated assault in the Hollywood community of Habersham County back in August, Macon County deputies learned that the Habersham Sheriff’s Office had multiple warrants out for his arrest.

After a traffic stop was initiated on Wikstrom on 441 S over the weekend, multiple individually packaged bags of methamphetamine were recovered according to the Macon County Sheriff’s Office.

Wikstrom was charged with trafficking methamphetamine as a result.

In addition to the many charges Wikstrom now faces, the U.S. Marshalls office has also indicated that he is being charged for violating his terms of probation.

The Magistrate Court set a secured bond at $1,000,000 and Wikstrom remains in custody at the Macon County Detention Center according to the sheriff’s office.
