Free Food for Kids This Summer

Community Partnership’s free summer food program is set to  kick off next week says Laura Lane…

“Our summer food program will be June the 8th, through July 31st, this year.

Lane says a child does not have to be a full time resident of Rabun County to receive a free lunch…

“Any child in Rabun County, age 18 and under, it can be a child visiting here, or it can be a child who lives here full time, but that’s the only requirement. All of our locations are in Rabun County, so it’s any children that shows up to these locations.”

A full list of locations can be found below, and you can call Community Partnership for anymore information about the program…

“They can call our office at 706-782-8390, and we’ll be glad to give them all the information they need.”

Lane adds that they are always looking for information from the public to help improve the program…

“If there is a location that you think would be a good place to deliver meals for children, it could be a neighborhood where several families live close together, it could be a church if you think families would bring their children there, then we’ll be glad to add more sites, our list isn’t permanent, we can add more sites as the summer goes on.”

There is no registration or income requirements to take part in the program.
