Four Recent Wrecks involving Animals

Deputies of the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office worked four recent wrecks in the county involving animals.  On December 16, 2022, at 11:55pm, the driver of a 1995 BMW M3 grazed a cow sitting in the road on Yorkhouse Road causing damage to the windshield and left rear view mirror.  The cows ran away and could not be located.  No one was injured in the single-vehicle collision.  On December 17, 2022, at 5:45pm, the driver of a 2014 Subaru Forester swerved to miss a dog that ran onto the road in Kelly’s Creek Park, went off the path, and became lodged in a ditch.  The driver was subsequently arrested for DUI and an open container.  No one was injured in the single-vehicle collision.  On December 18, 2022, at 2:15am, the driver of a 2020 Chevrolet Colorado hit a deer on Georgia 15 near Cardinal Street.  No one was injured in the single-vehicle collision.  On December 19, 2022, at 5:35pm, the driver of a 2020 Toyota Corolla struck a deer on Betty’s Creek Road.  No one was injured in the single-vehicle collision.
