Four Recent Wrecks in Rabun County

Deputies of the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office worked four recent wrecks in the county.  On November 26, 2022, at 10:36am, the driver of a 2016 Mazda Miata failed to yield at the intersection of Old 441 and Woodall Road and struck a 2015 Nissan Frontier on its passenger side causing damage to both vehicles.  No one was injured in the two-vehicle collision.  On November 27, 2022, at 10am, an unknown driver backed into a 2008 Nissan Altima in the Walmart parking lot on Highway 441 in Clayton.  Then the unknown driver fled the scene.  No one was injured in the two-vehicle collision.  On November 28, 2022, at 11:40am, the driver of a 2001 Acura MDX left the roadway on Highway 76 West and went down an embankment striking a wire cattle fence and a tree.  The driver and passenger were transported to the hospital for injuries sustained in the single-vehicle collision.  On November 28, 2022, at 11:40am, the driver of a 2009 Kia Rondo left the road near the entrance to Bridgecreek Road, went down an embankment, and struck a tree.  No one was injured in the single-vehicle collision.
