Four Recent Wrecks in Rabun County

Deputies of the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office worked four recent wrecks in the county.  On May 28, the driver of a 2016 Jeep Patriot hit a 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan when pulling out of a driveway on Warwoman Road.  No one was injured in the two-vehicle collision.  On May 28, a 2015 Nissan Rogue struck a bear that ran into the road near a curve on Georgia 15.  No one was injured in the single-vehicle collision; however, a ranger with the Department of Natural Resources had to put the bear down.  On May 28, a 2020 Toyota 4Runner backed out of a parking space and hit a 2021 Jeep Gladiator that was parked behind it at the Tiger Drive-In on Old 441 South.  No one was injured in the two-vehicle collision.  On May 31, the driver of a 2001 Ford Explorer left the roadway on Old 441 South near Blair Street, struck the culvert, continued up the bank striking a Georgia Power utility pole, continued through a fence, then came to rest on its top.  The driver was taken by Rabun County EMS to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained in the single-vehicle collision.
