Four Recent Wrecks in Rabun County

Deputies of the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office worked four recent wrecks in the county.  On April 1, a 2011 Nissan Maxima struck a 2004 Peterbilt 379 on Georgia 15 while trying to enter a parking lot causing damage to both vehicles.  No one was injured in the two-vehicle collision.  On April 6, a 2014 Buick Verano hit a 2006 Honda Accord that was stopped waiting to turn onto Mountain City Road.  No one was injured in the two-vehicle collision.  On April 7, a 2011 Ford LGT pulled off the side of the Tiger Connector when its brakes failed and its trailer overturned with an excavator loaded on it.  No one was injured in the single-vehicle collision.  On April 9, a 2002 Land Rover Discovery was making a U-turn at the end of a private driveway on Luther Owens Road when the brakes failed causing the vehicle to go down an embankment and strike a large tree with the front.  Two people were taken by Rabun County EMS to Mountain Lakes Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained in the single-vehicle collision.
