Former SEC Football Player Charged with Felony Murder

A former Buford High School football player has been charged in connection with killing a 4-year-old.

The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports that 26-year-old Steven Terrence Singleton was brought into custody in Gwinnett County on Wednesday on charges of felony murder and cruelty to children.

Singleton faces accusations of inflicting a fatal brain injury on 4-year-old Tye Hardin Saturday.

Singleton played football at Buford High School before going on to play at Louisiana State University and the University of South Carolina.

What exactly Singleton’s relation was to the child has still not been released at this time as the investigation continues.
