Flock Cameras to be installed in Clayton

At their monthly meeting on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, the Clayton City Council unanimously approved flock cameras to be installed around the city, explains Clayton Mayor Kurt Cannon. “The flock cameras we’ve talked about for a little while and our Chief Andy Strait has recommended them to us in the past, we’ve got our bids together, and we are ready to move forward with that. We voted unanimously to move forward with those cameras. There are already multiple flock cameras in the county, other cities have them and then the county has some as well. We have access to those now but with us adding more of those, it will enhance the law enforcement capabilities for the whole community and the City of Clayton as well. Those cameras help us pick up people that might be wanted for something somewhere or we might have an accident on Highway 441 that nobody sees or we can’t really tell what happened and those cameras will allow us to see exactly what happened. So, there will be a couple of cameras on 441 at high crash sites or high issue areas and then other places throughout the community, just to help our law enforcement.” The new cameras will be installed around the city soon.
