Five Recent Wrecks in Rabun County

Deputies of the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office worked five recent wrecks in the county.  The first happened at 11:31am on May 20, at the intersection of Walmart and Georgia 15.  The driver of a 2009 Chevy said his foot slipped off the brake causing him to strike a 2013 Nissan.  No one was injured in the two-vehicle collision.  The second wreck occurred at 9:12pm on May 22, on Wolffork Road.  The driver of a 2018 KIA said he was backing into his driveway and was struck by a 1998 Jeep Wrangler.  No one was injured in the two-vehicle collision.  The third wreck took place at 10:12pm on May 23, on Georgia 15 South at its intersection with Lofty Branch Lane.  A 2007 Chrysler Pacifica was struck in the rear by a 1999 Dodge Durango.  No one was injured in the two-vehicle collision.  The fourth wreck happened at 4:54pm on May 25, at the intersection of Bridge Creek Road and Covecrest Drive.  The driver of a 1997 Harley-Davidson said he looked up to see a blue heron flying over and then wrecked.  No one was injured in the single-vehicle accident.  The fifth wreck occurred at 8am on May 26, on Georgia 15 at the Walmart intersection.  A 2012 Ford Edge was attempting to turn right when it rear-ended a 2016 Honda Accord.  One person was taken by Rabun County EMS to Mountain Lakes Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained in the two-vehicle collision.
