Five Recent Wrecks in Rabun County

Deputies of the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office worked five recent wrecks in the county.  On July 25, at 6pm, the driver of a 2003 Freightliner Tractor struck a 2018 Toyota Camry on the front driver’s side with its trailer while negotiating a curve on Highway 28.  No one was injured in the two-vehicle collision.  On July 25, at 8:30pm, a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling southwest on Bridgecreek Road and ran off the roadway traveling into a ditch, exited the ditch, over-corrected, and returned to the ditch.  The Silverado sideswiped a power pole and finally came to rest on the shoulder of the roadway.  No one was injured.  A short time later, a 2022 Chevrolet Bolt was stopped for the accident waiting for the roadway to reopen when a large tree fell and struck the vehicle.  No one was injured.  On July 28, at 3:36pm, the driver of a 2019 Ford Super Duty dropped the right side tires off the pavement on Germany Road causing the vehicle to leave the road, travel down an embankment, and strike two trees.  No one was injured in the single-vehicle collision.  On August 1, at 9:46am, a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado pulled out in front of a 2017 Mercedes SUV on 76 East causing a collision, which resulted in disabling damage to both vehicles.  No one was injured in the two-vehicle crash.
