Five Recent Wrecks in Rabun County

Deputies of the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office worked five recent wrecks in the county.  The first occurred at 9:45am on Oct. 28, when a 2018 Ford Explorer slid down an embankment and got stuck on a rock partly in the river at the River Falls Campground.  No one was injured in the single-vehicle crash.  The second wreck happened at 6:56pm on Oct. 28, when a 2006 BMW 325I hydroplaned, left the roadway, struck a curb, and damaged the rear passenger side tire at Rabun County High School.  No one was injured in the single-vehicle collision.  The third crash took place at 8am on Oct. 29, when a 2015 Ford Fiesta swerved to avoid Sheriff’s line tape stretched across Old 441 South closing the highway due to Hurricane Zeta causing downed trees and crashed.  No one was injured in the single-vehicle collision.  The fourth wreck occurred at 2:32pm on Oct. 29, when a 2012 Toyota Camry struck a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder at the disabled intersection of Georgia 15 and Walmart.  No one was injured in the two-vehicle crash.  The fifth collision happened at 9:50am on Oct. 30, when a 2000 Chevrolet GMT-400 hit a 2005 Buick Lacrosse at the disabled traffic light at the intersection of Georgia 15 and Walmart.  No one was injured in the two-vehicle collision.
