Firearm found in the middle of Georgia 15

On June 24, a Tiger resident came to the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office to turn in a .45 caliber pistol that he found lying in the middle of Georgia 15.  The pistol is black with a brown grip and has Rock Island Armory inscribed on it.  A deputy ran the serial number through dispatch and it came back as not being stolen and had no record.  A black holster and a magazine with three live rounds were also found with the gun.  The deputy is attempting to locate the owner of the pistol.
