Felony Theft from Vehicle reported in Mountain City

The Rabun County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a recent felony theft from a motor vehicle at Appalachian Surveying in Mountain City.  On March 26, a deputy responded to the business on Highway 441 North and met with the vice president, who stated that someone had stolen a license plate off a work truck, siphoned gasoline from the truck, and stolen multiple items from the bed of the truck.  The total value of the items taken is $25,279.  Further investigation is underway by the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Unit.
