Felony Theft by Taking under Investigation in Clayton

The Rabun County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a felony theft by taking case in Clayton.  On February 15, 2023, a deputy spoke with a man who stated that sometime in December, a 1907 Stevens 22 short rifle with a corn cob pump handle went missing from his address on Queen Street.  The rifle is valued at $1,500.  The case has been turned over to the Criminal Investigation Division and the rifle has been entered into the Georgia Crime Information Center database as stolen.
