Farris’ Hat Trick paces TFS in 7-1 Win over Rabun Co.

The Tallulah Falls School (TFS) Lady Indians varsity soccer team took a third straight victory with a 7-1 win over visiting Rabun County behind Gemma Farris’ hat trick. #8-ranked TFS got goals from four different players, reports TFS Athletics.  “Tonight, our girls played a match of finesse and grit,” says coach Travis Mullis. “Sometimes it was a wonder to watch while at other times we had to fight to keep our heads above water. We didn’t enter the game overconfident because Rabun is a good team and shared the same record as us. The objective was simple – everybody fulfill your responsibility and play hard for your team. The result proves the girls did, and I couldn’t be more proud of them.”  Aside from Farris’ 3 goals, Addie Higbie scored twice and Millie Holcomb and Maddie Mullis scored one apiece. Tessa Foor had 2 assists. The win clinched a Region Runner-Up finish for the Lady Indians.  “Three for three,” says coach Travis Mullis. “Since we all started this journey a couple of years ago, our girls’ teams have pushed hard enough to achieve region runner-up status every season, falling short of a couple very good teams from the Athens area. Several of the seniors and juniors this year, along with those who came before have supported those endeavors and deserve the utmost respect for their time and efforts. They are TFS girls soccer; they started the tradition. This season, the next generation, sophomores and freshmen, have stepped up to join the cause and I think it’s safe to say that TFS girls soccer will be pushing for the top of the region for years to come.”  TFS is now 10-3 overall and 7-2 in region play.
