Eggs disappear in Minutes at Rabun Co. Rec’s Easter Egg Hunt

It took only a few minutes for thousands of eggs to disappear at the annual Easter Egg Hunt hosted by the Rabun County Recreation Department on April 1, says Adam Dixon, Athletic Director of the Rabun County Recreation Department.  “We had a great time and I think people were just so excited to be back outside and have an event.  Last year, we obviously did not have the Easter Egg so there was a break in about 12 years and then we did our 13th annual after skipping a year, I believe that is the year we are on but a great time.  Andy’s and Sam Rumsey with Poss Realty provide hotdogs.  We had several hundred kids and adults out there, considering the weather was a little chilly everybody just bundled up and came out.  I want to say that Amy and the staff hide around 7,500 eggs.  Of course, those are gone in about four minutes, it doesn’t take very long when you’re hiding eggs on an open field but everybody had such a great time.  South State Bank provided bicycles for every age group grand prize winner.  So, we’re really appreciative of all our sponsors for the event but it was a good time.  Other than cold, the weather really cooperated.  We cleared the field, Little League games came on at 7pm and it was a full day.  The county gave us Good Friday off and I think we all needed a break after working that hard that long.”  Thanks again to the staff and sponsors of the annual Easter Egg Hunt at the Rabun County Recreation Department.
