Eagles lose to Chargers

The Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School Eagles varsity football team lost to the Providence Day Chargers on Friday, October 21, 2022.  Here’s the voice of Rabun Gap varsity football on Real Country 100.3, Peyton Brady with a recap of the game.  “Providence Day traveled to Rabun Gap, Georgia to take on the Rabun Gap Eagles.  Providence Day starts off the game with an 11-yard touchdown pass.  On a Rabun Gap fourth and goal, the ball was intercepted in the end zone by Providence Day and a 42-yard return.  #52 Gideon Herbert of Rabun Gap has a sack to force a fourth down and a kick for Providence Day.  Coming into the second quarter, a 25-yard field goal by Providence Day makes the score 0-10.  Rabun Gap has a sack by #53 Terry Ezeala to end the half.  Coming into a big third quarter, a punt is blocked by #14 Khory Moss of Rabun Gap.  A quarterback keeper by #1 Trey Horne of 5-yards and the extra point kick by #34 Jacob Day makes the score 7-10 with Providence Day remaining in the lead.  A strip-sack fumble recovery by #29 Joaquin Acuna of Rabun Gap, the ball is carried 65-yards by Acuna and fumbled but recovered by Rabun Gap’s #17 Joshua Buckhalter for the touchdown.  The kick is good by Day and Rabun Gap takes its first lead in the third quarter 14-10.  With a 7-yard touchdown pass by Providence Day, they regained the lead 14-17.  #2 Walker Bryson with a 53-yard carry as running back takes Rabun Gap back in the lead 21-17.  Providence Day has a 34-yard touchdown pass taking the final lead.  The final score here at Zavala Family Stadium is 21-24 and Providence Day will take this win back to Charlotte.  This is Peyton Brady for Real Country 100.3.”  The Eagles are now 6-3 on the season and will next travel to play High Point Christian Academy on Friday, October 28, 2022, at 7pm.
