Drug Arrests in Lakemont

Three people stand charged with offenses stemming from a traffic stop on Georgia 15 in Lakemont on Sept. 11, 2019, around 4pm.  The Rabun County Sheriff’s Office reports that a deputy was patrolling the area when he noticed a 2003 Ford Explorer traveling northbound and conducted a traffic stop for failure to maintain lane at the intersection of Camp Creek Road and Connector Road.  After further investigation and with the assistance of the K9 unit, a search of the vehicle produced several drug-related objects as well as a controlled substance. Arrested were 32-year-old Angela Marie Freeman of Clayton for driving under the influence of drugs and failure to maintain lane, 38-year-old Jennifer Lee Welch of Clayton for possession of a schedule I or II controlled substance and possession and use of drug-related objects, and 30-year-old Jennifer Lynn Casillo of Cleveland, Georgia, for giving false name to law enforcement.  All three were booked into the Rabun County Detention Center on the charges. This was merely an arrest and all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
