Drug Arrest made in Wiley

A Rabun Gap man stands charged with possession of methamphetamine after a recent traffic stop on Georgia 15 at its intersection with Transom Lane in Wiley.  The Rabun County Sheriff’s Office reports that on June 19, 2020, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a 1998 Ford Windstar for failure to maintain lane.  During the stop, K9 Doug was deployed and a search of the vehicle was conducted.  During the search suspected methamphetamine was discovered.  The driver, 35-year-old Jonathan Lee Edmonds of Rabun Gap was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, driving a motor vehicle on a suspended registration, and failure to maintain lane.  He was booked into the Rabun County Detention Center on the three charges.
