Drought Conditions in Rabun County worsen as the winter progresses.

According to the latest statistics released by the United State Drought Monitor, Rabun County is now facing moderate drought conditions, after being drought free for the month of October and abnormally dry for much of the month of November.

Rabun County last saw moderate drought conditions on July 31st of this year.

The rest of the surrounding area is also facing moderate drought conditions, including Habersham County, Stephens County, Oconee County South Carolina and much of Macon County North Carolina.

As far as lake levels in Rabun County is concerned, Lake Seed is just over one foot below full elevation, while Georgia Power is reporting that Lake Burton and Rabun are just over 10 feet below full elevation.
