Dream Season continues for TFS Lady Indians

Tallulah Falls School’s (TFS) dream postseason is a reality, as TFS secured a state championship game appearance with a stellar 3-1 win over #1-ranked Mt. Pisgah at home on Saturday afternoon, reports TFS Athletics.  After a back-and-forth battle in the opening set, the #2-ranked Lady Indians took a 1-0 advantage with a 25-22 set win. Though the second set proved to be easier as far as the scoreboard showed, the intensity was heightened. TFS took a 25-14 second set to push Mt. Pisgah to the brink of elimination.  The Lady Indians’ defense played perhaps the best it has all season. In the third set, TFS held a lead throughout most of it. After the Lady Indians got up 13-8, Mt. Pisgah roared back to tie the set at 17 apiece. From there, Tallulah Falls fell behind but tied the set two more times before the visitors wrapped up a 26-24 win to pull within 2-1.  Mt. Pisgah was up early at 8-6 in the final set, but TFS knotted the score at 9-9, and tied it again at 13 and 15 before pulling ahead. Tallulah pulled ahead and held off Mt. Pisgah with a 25-21 win, securing a 3-1 match that sets up a state championship match, their first appearance next Friday.  The Lady Indians are now 34-11 after their ninth consecutive win, and have collected seven wins this season over state-ranked opponents. This marks the third time in school history (second this season) of beating a #1-ranked team.
