Discover Conservation Camp Programs this Summer

Ready to explore the outdoors this summer? This June and July, Charlie Elliott Wildlife Center has three exciting overnight camps for the young sportsmen in the family. During these residential camps, campers will get a chance to gain skills and experience in safety, sportsmanship and conservation. Most of all they will have fun! 

Gone Fishin’ Camp (ages 11-13)– June 10-14, 2024 Campers will spend the week learning about fishing and fisheries management. Activities include mastering fishing techniques, identifying what goes into a tackle box, exploring fish biology, and of course, a lot of fishing! Campers will develop the skills needed to “catch the big one!” Cost is $325 per camper. 

Shooting Sports Camp (ages 12-16)– July 1-5, 2024 Campers will learn the basic rules of gun safety and proper handling of rifles, shotguns, and archery equipment. Safety will be emphasized as campers the fundamentals of shooting while participating in various shooting activities. they will also learn how to safely clean, maintain, and store firearms. By week’s end, campers will have completed the National Rifle Association’s (NRA) First Steps program. An opportunity to demonstrate their new skills and earn shooting awards will round out the camp. Cost is $350 per camper

Out Huntin’ Camp– July 8-12, 2024 Interested in becoming a hunter but don’t know how to get started? Spend the week learning about Georgia’s game animals and how to successfully pursue them. You will learn basic wildlife biology and behavior, hunter safety practices, hunting methods, and firearms handling, as well as game processing and preparation for the table. By week’s end, participants will have completed Georgia’s hunter safety certification requirements. Everyone will also have an opportunity to demonstrate the new skills and knowledge learned. Cost is $350 per camper.
