Deputies work Two Wrecks on Friday in Rabun County

Deputies of the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office worked two wrecks on Friday, September 2, 2022, in the county.  At 8pm, the driver of a 2002 Toyota Highlander attempted to turn left into the Chevron on Georgia 15 without yielding to oncoming traffic.  The driver of a 2014 Chrysler 300 swerved but was still struck by the Highlander and went through a ditch and ran over a campaign sign.  The driver of the Highlander was arrested for driving under the influence.  No one was injured in the two-car collision.  At 10:30pm, the driver of a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado swerved to miss a deer in the roadway on Seed Tick Road and slid off the roadway down a small embankment.  No one was injured in the single-vehicle accident.
