Deputies work Three Crashes in Rabun Co.

Deputies with the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office worked three recent motor vehicle crashes in the county.  The first happened on Warwoman Road on Jan. 12. The driver of a 2019 Indian Scout told the deputy that he was looking to where his wife was instead of where he was going and didn’t see the curve.  He turned steeply causing him to lose control of the motorcycle and go over an embankment. He was taken by Rabun County EMS to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. The second crash occurred on Bridge Creek Road on Jan. 12.  The driver of a 1986 Jeep Cherokee stated that his brakes weren’t working and he dropped the passenger side tires off the shoulder of the roadway, lost control, overcorrected, locked the brakes up, and left the roadway. The two people in the vehicle refused medical treatment for their injuries.  The third crash happened on Old 441 South at its intersection with Summit Road on Jan. 13. A 2000 Ford Ranger was turning left when it was struck from behind by a 2003 Ford Crown Victoria. No one was injured in the two-vehicle collision.
