Deputies investigating Felony Theft by Deception

The Rabun County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a felony theft by deception case out of Clayton.  On March 23, a deputy received a call from a Clarkesville man, who stated that he wanted to file a report for theft by an employee.  The man told the deputy that his employee had been writing checks in his name and used a company credit card for personal use.  Also, the employee sold a boat trailer and did not turn in the money for the trailer.  The total value of the stolen items is $6,500.
