Deputies investigating 3 Recent Thefts in the County

Three thefts reported to the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office on August 5, 2022, are under investigation.   In the first case, a deputy met with the victim, who stated that someone went to his house on Bradford Road in Clayton and pried open the window.  Numerous items were taken from the home including a pellet rifle, two hunting knives, rare coins, a signed collectible figurine, a gold necklace, a Benjamin Moore suit, assorted clothing, CDs, cash, and food.  The total value of the stolen items is $6,940.  In the second case, a deputy met with a homeowner on Seed Lake Road in Lakemont and learned that someone had pried open the doors underneath his house and stole a generator, an air compressor, two chainsaws, and a gas can.  The total value of the stolen items is $2,120.  In the third case, a deputy met with the victim and learned that someone had gone to a job site on Jim McCrackin Road in Clayton and stolen all of the Milwaukee tools that were on site including a circular saw, a compact drill, a starter kit, and an oscillating multi-tool.  The total value of the stolen items is $696.
