Crooked thief nabs couples Christmas tree

CLAYTON — Last Saturday, the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office dispatched an officer to follow up on a complainant who said a Christmas tree, amongst other oddball items, had been taken from her home while she was away on vacation.

The homeowner of the Clayton residence located on North Germany Road, Tasha Noble, 29, told law enforcement she had returned home from a trip last weekend and stopped at the residence to pick up some belongings when she had noticed several items had been stolen, while other items had been moved around.

Noble advised law enforcement that she was missing a nineteen-inch flat screen TV, two gas cooktops, a cast iron pot and pan, a Bluetooth speaker, Christmas tree and some personal hygiene items.

Among the suspects Noble thought to allegedly commit such a crime, she stated that her wife, Courtney Halbrock, had encountered previous problems with the landlord, James Cannon, who rents the home to the couple.
