Criminal Damage to Property in Tiger under Investigation

The Rabun County Sheriff’s Office is investigating criminal damage to property in Tiger.  On May 6, 2020, a deputy was dispatched to the Murray Cove boat ramp in reference to a man who wanted to report vandalism to his vehicle.  The man told the deputy that on May 4, he had his 2015 Dodge Ram 2500 parked at the boat ramp in the upper lot while he was on the lake.  When he left the boat ramp in his truck, the truck died.  He found out later that it was due to water being mixed with his fuel.  On May 6, he brought his dad’s 2017 Dodge Ram 1500 to the boat ramp and the same thing happened.  Both vehicles had to be towed.  The man believes that someone intentionally poured water into the fuel tanks, due to his mechanic saying that the amount of water couldn’t have come from daily use.  The case remains under investigation.
