Crash snarls Traffic on Ga. 365

A two-vehicle crash on Ga. 365 at Alto-Mud Creek Road Monday morning, March 18, sent two people to the hospital and snarled traffic in both directions for a time. Habersham County E-911 received notification of the wreck at 7:12am. A Baldwin police officer who was assisting the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office by checking an alarm in the area was on scene almost immediately and advised of a multi-vehicle crash with a truck blocking Ga. 365 northbound and a vehicle off in the trees on the southbound side. The first Habersham County Emergency Services official on scene reported the SUV was some 40 feet off the roadway. Habersham County Emergency Services Med 12 transported two people involved to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville. Habersham County Emergency Services Engine 12, Med 12, and 812 responded, along with two units from the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office and the Baldwin police officer. Georgia State Patrol Post 7 Toccoa is investigating.
