From WNEG Radio, Toccoa

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs will conduct counseling workshops for veterans at Georgia Department of Labor career centers in Habersham County this week.

The workshop will offer a wide variety of counseling services, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), alcohol and drugs, bereavement, marital and family problems, along with assistance in applying for VA benefits.

Department of Labor staff will be on site to assist the veterans with resume critiquing, employment counseling, and job referrals. Veterans should bring valid identification, including military ID cards and driver’s licenses, along with their resumes.

The workshop will be held Thursday at the Labor Department’s Habersham Career Center located at 215 Hodges St. in Cornelia, beginning at 10AM.

Edward Robbins, a veterans outreach representative at the Lawrenceville VA Center, will conduct the workshops. For additional information about the event, contact the Habersham Career Center at (706) 776-0811.
