Cornelia Man in Custody after Tuesday Manhunt

A scary series of events unfolded this today in Habersham County, where a Cornelia man is a suspect in a domestic shooting incident.

According to a report from NowHabersham.com, Habersham County sheriff Joey Terrell said that the incident began around 2 A.M. Tuesday, when officers were called about a domestic dispute at the home of Tommy Savage on Garrison Road in Cornelia, after the incident had calmed, officers left. Then, just two hours later, officers and first responders reported back to the residence on Garrison Road after a report of gunfire being heard from the home. There, officers found one deceased, and two injured. The two injured were treated at a local hospital, and later released.

Savage fled the scene, and led officers on a manhunt that ended nearly six hours later, where Savage was taken into custody.

Savage was transported to the Habersham County Detention Center, more information will be provided when it becomes available.
