Continue wearing Masks even when it gets Hot

Wearing a mask in public settings has become the new normal amid the COVID-19 pandemic, but as the temperature gets hotter those masks become less and less comfortable.  Dave Palmer, Public Information Officer for District 2 Public Health, says continue wearing masks to help slow the spread of the respiratory virus.  “Well, the masks protect other people because we don’t know what we are carrying, so if we wear the masks and we cough or breathe we can’t spread illness as easily.  So, it is really important for us now to be wearing a mask when we are in the presence of other people and especially those who are older folks and when we go out into public shopping to the grocery store or to the hardware store or anywhere like that we really need to be wearing a mask.”  Masks should be worn over your nose and mouth and secured under your chin.
