Congressman Collins Demands Answers from Windstream

Congressman Doug Collins has sent a letter to telecommunications provider Windstream regarding their unsatisfactory and substandard service to their customers in the Ninth District of Georgia.

Some snippets of the letter includes Collins saying that, While he firmly supports free enterprise and believes that the Federal Government’s role should be limited, the nature and consistency of the reports of poor service that he has have received left him no choice but to write directly. Collins also asked the company about upgrades, and how much of the collection from customers is going towards those upgrades.

Windstream has received government money from the Phase II Connect America Fund, as well as preferred tax status from the IRS. Collins reached out to discover why their service continues to underperform in Northeast Georgia, despite the federal government’s involvement.
