Conflict in Iraq Causes Conflict with Your Wallet

While temperatures began to rise last week, it was no match for the rise in numbers at the pump. Rabun County saw gas prices jump 6 cents through last week. The cause, violence in Iraq, which continues to put pressure on oil prices, says AAA Spokesperson Mark Jenkins…

“Gas prices typically would be falling right now, but the conflict in Iraq is the main thing that’s driving them higher. Until a resolution is reached, prices could remain elevated throughout the summer, but there is no reason to panic right now, prices still about 10 cents less then what we paid in February.”

Rabun County’s average currently sits at $3.50 a gallon.
