Closings, Road Conditions, and Power Outage Updates for January 23

Power Outages

Georgia Power reports that there are 42 outages, and 1,499 customers without power throughout Rabun County, mostly south of Clayton, in the Tiger and Wiley area.

Habersham Electric Membership Cooperative reports that 96 customers are without power in Rabun County.

Joy Baptist Church in Lakemont have canceled Sunday services
Clayton First UMC has canceled Sunday services
Wiley Presbyterian Church has cancelled Sunday services


Road Conditions

Sheriff Frank Andrews reports that main roads are in pretty good shape but secondary roads are still in rough shape. Lesser traveled roads and roads closed due to trees on powers lines will take longer to clear. Please be safe.

Reports from Bridge Creek Road coming in….it is in really tough shape. Folks are being advised to stay away from that area.

Most, if not all, side roads are in rough shape and main roads are very slick. If you have to be out, please use caution.
