Clayton selects Contractor for CDBG Project

The City of Clayton has selected a contractor to perform work as part of a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) project.  This will be the installation of a main line, explains Clayton Mayor Kurt Cannon.  “We just awarded the contract to Mack Jones, who does a lot of work for the City.  So, we were very comfortable with that award and he will be putting in a 12-inch main line from the golf course up to about Leaning Chimney Road.  That’s part of a larger project that will come all the way through Clayton up to the shirt factory, eventually.  That was part of a grant that the City received and we are spending those dollars as wisely as we can to try to get as far as we can with it.”  The City will inform residents and businesses in the area when construction is set to begin and any detours that may be needed for the project.
