Clayton Man arrested for DUI

If you plan to drink, schedule a sober driver or you could end up like 46-year-old Joseph Arthur Blalock of Clayton, who stands charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to maintain lane.  On Dec. 4, a deputy with the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motor vehicle crash on Warwoman Road. Upon arrival, the deputy observed a Chevy truck laying on the driver’s side in the west lane of travel and partially in a ditch.  The deputy made contact with the driver, Blalock, and smelled alcohol on his breath. Blalock told the deputy that one of his passengers was attempting to climb into the front seat and fell into him causing the vehicle to run off the road. After failing the field sobriety tests, Blalock was arrested and booked into the Rabun County Detention Center on the two charges.
