Clayton Council adopts City of Civility Resolution

Kindness is a type of behavior marked by acts of generosity, consideration, rendering assistance or concern for others, without expecting praise or reward in return.  At their recent monthly meeting, the Clayton City Council unanimously adopted a City of Civility resolution, explains Clayton Mayor Kurt Cannon.  “The Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) has encouraged all the cities to adopt a civility resolution.  When I came into office, we kind of did that by having the saying ‘be nice or leave’ and this is kind of a bigger version of that that GMA has encouraged all the cities to adopt.  It just talks about all citizens and the Council to remember to do business in a civil manner and not threaten each other or the community threatening Council members.  Just acting responsibly at meetings and in public.”  Kindness is most often taught from parents to children and is learned through observation and some direct teaching.
