Clayton City Council sets Public Hearings on Millage Rate

The millage rate is going up in the City of Clayton.  A proposed increase was introduced by the Clayton City Council at their regular monthly meeting Tuesday, explains City Manager Cissy Henry.  “The millage is being proposed at 8.7685 that is a 6.43% increase.” Three public hearings are required on the new millage rate, adds Henry. “There has to be three public hearings.  They are scheduled for Aug. 13, at the work session at 3:30pm, and then again on Aug. 20, at 9am and then again at 3:30pm. All three of those will be here in the courtroom.” Citizens will be afforded time to ask questions on the proposed new millage rate at the three public hearings.
