Clayton City Council Makes New Appointments

It’s a new year, and many agencies throughout Rabun County, including the Clayton City Council, are beginning a new slate.

Yesterday, the Clayton City Council held their monthly meeting to discuss many items on their agenda. One of those was appointing new members to the council. According to City Manager Cissy Henry, there were only a couple of changes.

Andy Strait moved from Assistant Chief of Police to Chief, Willie Fortson is now Mayor Pro tem, and Elizabeth Chapman is now an official member of the council. But, with Jordan Green moving to Mayor, that leaves one council seat open. This seat is still vacant, as Jordan Green is still reaching out to possible candidates.

The Clayton City Council meets every second and third Wednesday of the month, at 5PM in the Clayton City Courtroom.
