Clayton awards Contract for Culvert replacement on Old 441 S

At a special called meeting on Monday, April 4, the mayor and city council for the City of Clayton awarded a contract to replace the culvert on  Old 441 South.  Clayton Mayor Kurt Cannon said the low bidder on the project was Attaway Construction.  “There has been a problem there for several months caused by a storm some time ago.  That project has been delayed for several reasons but we finally moved that along and just awarded it to Attaway Construction.  That will be coming in hopefully by the first of May.  We will have some road closures at that time, but we’ll get those out to the public and let them know exactly when we’re going to be doing that.”  In March of 2021, severe storms damaged the culvert going under Old 441 South.  The City is receiving FEMA Public Assistance on the project.
