Clayton applying for 2020 Rural Zone Funds

An application for 2020 Rural Zone funds is being submitted today by the City of Clayton.  If approved, these funds will aid in downtown economic development, explains Clayton City Manager Cissy Henry.  “That is very exciting for this area. It is actually due on Friday. It is something I have worked very hard on with a grant writer and we will be submitting that to DCA.  If this is awarded, there are only ten counties in Georgia that get it each year, this is a five-year program and it is a tax incentive for redevelopment downtown.” The city expects to hear if they are awarded funds by the end of the year.
