City of Clayton approves Partnership with Forward Rabun

At their recent meeting, the Clayton City Council approved a partnership with Forward Rabun.  This new partnership will help promote tourism in the City, says Clayton City Manager Cissy Henry.  “This is exciting news for Forward Rabun actually getting off the ground.  The City has to send part of our Hotel and Motel Tax on promoting tourism for Rabun County or for the City of Clayton and in the past, it has always been given to one entity, which is the Clayton Business and Merchants Association (CMBA).  Forward Rabun has wanted to partner with the City of Clayton and with the CMBA, so a portion of those funds will go to Forward Rabun to promote all of Rabun County along with the City of Clayton and CMBA would receive the other portion.”  Last year, the Rabun County Board of Commissioners approved an ordinance to establish Forward Rabun, which consolidated the Development Authority of Rabun County, the Rabun County Chamber of Commerce, and the Tourism Development Authority.
