Child Passenger Safety Seats are required in Georgia

The Georgia Department of Public Safety is reminding motorists of the child passenger safety seat requirements.  In Georgia, there are certain requirements as to how children must be restrained in a passenger vehicle.  If the child is under the age of 8, they must be properly restrained in an appropriate child passenger safety seat or a booster seat.  The car seat must also be installed and used in accordance with the manufacturer’s directions, or you may receive a child restraint citation.  If they are over the age of 8, they must be restrained by a safety belt, but may still need a booster seat depending on their height and weight.  For more information, visit https://www.gahighwaysafety.org/child-passenger-safety/.
