Changes made to Bus Transportation at Rabun County Schools

Rabun County Schools are getting ready for the start of another school year, but with the coronavirus still looming some changes have been made to bus transportation.  Rabun County Schools Transportation Director Marty Dixon gives details.  “This year transportation is going to look a little different to your student.  We are going to be changing some routes so where it is limiting the number of students that’s on the bus this year and that affects your child you will be notified by the bus driver that will be driving that route.  We will also be doing seating charts for each bus that way we know where your student is sitting and who they are sitting with.  To start with we will require students to sit with family to help with social distancing.  We will also be requiring students to wear masks while they are on the school bus because social distancing is difficult to do on the school bus.  We will not be allowing students to ride home with other students for activities, they will only be able to ride to their designated stops.”  Students return to school in the Rabun County School System on Wednesday, August 19.  To learn more about changes made amid the coronavirus at Rabun County Schools, visit https://www.rabuncountyschools.org/ and click on the videos.
