Bruce Frederick Sekeres

Bruce Frederick Sekeres, age 76, of Tiger, Georgia, passed away on January 7, 2018.

 

He was the son of the late Julius Sekeres and Caroline Poplar Sekeres and was born June 6, 1941. Bruce worked in law enforcement for many years and worked his way up to Chief and Director of Public Safety in North Palm Beach, Florida. He was Pastmaster of the Chagrin Falls, Ohio Masonic Lodge and member of Rabun Gap Masonic Lodge, where he served as Treasurer for many years. He was a Scottish Rite Freemason and Shriner. Bruce was a volunteer of the Habitat for Humanity Organization, a fire certified E.M.T. and a member of the Retired Law Enforcement Group, in Rabun County. He was a veteran, and served his country as a Submariner in the Navy on the U.S.S. Picuda SS 382. After his naval service, he worked as a machinist with National ACME Corporation.

 

In addition to his parents, one son, Jeff Bowser, preceded him in death.

 

His survivors include his wife, Donna Sekeres, of Tiger; his son, Todd Bowser (Angela), of Cumming, Georgia; two daughters, Lori Caputo (Craig), of Woodstock, Georgia, Julie Doyle (Craig), of Dawsonville, Georgia; one brother, David J. Sekeres, of Rifle, Colorado; eight grandchildren, Halle McCann, Sarah Hobbs, Jake Bowser, Madeleine Bowser, Jeffrey Doyle, Richard Doyle, Matthew Doyle, Timothy Doyle; two great-grandchildren, Wiliam McCann, Eva McCann.

 

The family will receive friends on Sunday January 14, 2018 from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at the Beck Funeral Home.

 

A Celebration of Life will follow at 2:00pm on Sunday January 14, 2018 in the Chapel of the Beck Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Cannon officiating.
