Bill Revising CVB Passes House

When it comes to what has been going on with our state legislators, much of the focus has been on the legislation that provides for the creation of a new water and sewer authority; however, another bill involving Rabun County has been passed by one chamber of the state legislature.

House Bill 535 revises the composition of the Rabun County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau to make it smaller and also revises the budget schedule to better line up with that of the Rabun County Board of Commissioners.

That bill was passed Wednesday by a 168 to zero vote.

The Intragovernmental Coordination Committee reported favorably Tuesday, but the vote was postponed until Wednesday.

The bill will now head to the State Senate for a first reading.
